Christmas Catering and Celebrations

Well, if your thinking what the hell am I going to do for Christmas whilst I'm mid way through #Pantrybeforepurchase you and I are definitely on the same page. I am hosting Christmas lunch for 20 this Sunday. As everyone is at their various events on Christmas day so my planning has started….

I do have an abundance of alcohol which is a plus and I do have crackers and baking items that I can use, however my fresh produce and dairy will have to be my main go to.

It is hard to avoid the soft plastics and even trying my best to reduce them, I can only see making sure I dont over cater will be the key to less waste. Christmas decorations are what I already have and some tree cuttings, I have some bonbons from last year but only 10, so guess whoever pops it, gets it. I dont use paper plates or plastic cups as a rule so being aware of what I am using and purchasing I feel makes some difference.

We only do secret Santa which sees that everyone gets a little something but makes it more about spending time together and not about the gifts.

On the menu for 20 guests

Cheese and nibbles -

Guests only really eat cheese and nibbles if its the only thing on the menu so here I am starting small.

2x cheese - soft and blue

salami

chilli olives

1 dip

quince paste

strawberries to garnish

Crackers (I have in pantry)

Main

6kg Glazed ham

Pork (mother is bringing)

Prawns (cousin is bringing)

Cassata - Italian ice cream cake - AMAZING (I have all ingredients in pantry by the dairy ice cream and cream)

Roulade - I will buy this as its delicious and Ill take my own container to pick it up.
